The Leavenworth Pavilion & Ice Rink will be a “best-in-class” facility nestled in the heart of downtown Leavenworth, Washington. The Pavilion will serve the Upper Wenatchee Valley communities of Leavenworth, Peshastin, Plain, Lake Wenatchee, Dryden and Cashmere, as well as our 2.0 million annual visitors.

This City of Leavenworth park will feature an Old World Bavarian design that will welcome both residents and visitors. The open-air structure will have a refrigerated concrete floor that will provide an ice sheet from November to March. From April to September, the Pavilion will offer a covered staging area for theater, concerts, auto shows, art exhibitions, markets, & Leavenworth’s renowned Oktoberfest.

With over 500 statewide donors, our community has raised $1,200,000. Our partnerships with public, private, and corporate organizations include the City of Leavenworth, Stevens Pass, Wenatchee Wild Hockey Club, Amtrak, Holland America, the Icicle Fund, Projekt Bayern, and the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club.

The concept of a local ice rink has been part of the Leavenworth Parks Plan for over 30 years. In 2011, the Leavenworth City Council designated a city owned downtown site for construction of this facility. HTG Architects, with 42 ice rink design experiences has completed the schematic documents for this site. RJM Construction has created a preliminary construction budget of $4,400,000 using local vendors. The project was also reviewed by Turner Construction.

The Leavenworth Pavilion & Ice Rink will create new local jobs. Approximately 76 construction workers will be employed during the 10 month building period. Pavilion operations will result in approximately 10 new permanent jobs. The employees will be managed by the Leavenworth Winter Sports Club, which has over 85 years of winter sports operations experience.

Investment in this facility will result in long-term local, regional, and state benefits by increasing the lodging & sales tax dollars that are now generated in Leavenworth. Another substantial benefit will be the increase in tourism during the “shoulder” seasons and during low-snow winters. Not only will this help the local economy with more full-time jobs, but it will also extend the length of employment for many of the seasonal workers.

We ask for your support for this community asset that will create new jobs and contribute to the economy at the local, regional and state levels. At the same time, the Leavenworth Pavilion & Ice Rink will provide new recreational, cultural, and tourist opportunities for all of Chelan County and the Northwest.
